25 Years of Architecture
Since 1988, the European Commission and the Fundació Mies van der Rohe of Barcelona have granted the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award every two years. During these twenty-five years, the Fundació has organised thirteen award cycles and in the process has built a online database as well as an extensive archive consisting of photographs, drawings, digital and audiovisual ma- terial, as well as models, which are the focus of this exhibition. Representing some 200 projects that have been selected by the award juries since 1988, the models are placed according to where they have been constructed. In this way, a huge map of Europe has been created showing the scale and depth of European architecture production over the past twenty-five years.
